Welcome everyone and thank you for taking the time to visit this website!
What's it all about and what can I do for you?
It is my hope that through this website I can help you on your Salesforce journey, I will share with you the techniques and methods that I have used to acquire 7 Certifications since April 2020 including the highly in-demand FSL and CPQ. I will guide you through what you need to know, the most effective way to learn the material, and more importantly, how to pass the certification exams.
Can anyone learn Salesforce?
Yes, yes they can. I firmly believe that anyone can learn Salesforce with enough time, dedication, and hard work. It is a highly intuitive CRM system that is easy to get to grips with but difficult to become an expert in.
How did I end up as Salesforce Consultant?
If you've read anything about the Salesforce world you will have probably heard the expression, 'Accidental Admin', someone who has had Salesforce thrust upon them and had the opportunity to upskill while working with the system every day.
That isn't me.
My story is a little different, this time last year I was a Travel Agent, I'd never seen Salesforce and barely knew what it was. Fast forward 12 months and I'm a Salesforce Consultant for Art of Cloud designing and implementing solutions in a wide range of environments for a number of clients. I have achieved 7 Salesforce Certifications and I'm planning to obtain my 8th shortly. It has been hard, a baptism by fire you may say, but I've loved it and it's changed my life dramatically. I've worked extremely hard to get where I am by changing my daily schedule to squeeze in at least 2 hours worth of study every day, and I've been very fortunate that I have worked in a consultative role for over a decade, and as such have a tremendous amount of transferable skills. But I have had to supplement that by completing numerous Trailhead Trailmixes, reading pages and pages of Salesforce documentation, and building 100's of Flows. That's not even taking into account the many dev orgs I have created and broken just to get more hands-on experience with FSL and CPQ.
My hope
It is my genuine hope that I can help guide you as you navigate your way through the opening stages of your Salesforce career. I believe that I am in a great position to help you as it was not that long ago I sat where you sat, saw what you saw, and was confused just as much as you are.
I want you to treat my posts like we are sat in a coffee shop, catching up like old friends. Speaking honestly and without fear.
So grab a coffee, let's have a chat, and let's see what we can do together to make your journey easier.
Thank you for reading,
Dave
